My Bio
I work as a fantasy and animal artist because I have always been fascinated by the beasts of stories of my childhood and myths in my readings in later life.
Part of my inspiration comes from novels and stories, but wildlife constantly affects me in almost all everyday situations, like a walk to the grocery store, or just looking at my bird feeder through the kitchen window.
I choose watercolour and ink as materials to capture my subjects because these light mediums provide a fairy-tale-like atmosphere to my work. This lightness is balanced by the sharp outlines of figures, inspired by superhero comic and manga books of my childhood.
A bird is a symbol of freedom. The supernatural lets you escape reality. When painting, my subjects work as a stress relief for me, so I can get lost in the magical world I create.

New photo studio at home

Finally I could set up my budget photo studio at home to take good pictures of my painting, as some of them are oversized for a scanner. The lights and stands are from Amazon, from the cheapest finds. They worked quite ok though. Considering I took the pictures with my Pixel 1 the results are not bad at all. The photo below is without any editing. To "stretch" the images (they can get a bit curly after drying and spraying them with UV protector clear finish) I used IKEA frames without the glass mounted on an easel. I used a close up photo for the actual deviation upload, which I previously cropped and edited for better colour results. That was done in Google Photos. All's on a budget after all.

Wow. So now I created a gallery at last. It's nice to belong such a big community. I've been watching DA for a few months and I always wanted to see my own pics up here.
To speak about something else, I'm really busy right now. I'm going to finish high school at the end of this term so I should study now instead of writing a journal =P So see you later!
